A Trying Day

trying to laugh trying to manage trying to organize trying to explain trying to contain
trying to cajole trying to inspire trying to wipe the tears trying to sooth the beast
trying to reason trying to enforce trying to find a reason
trying to calm the anger trying to ease the pain
trying NOT to laugh
as a student with his fist in the air and head back roars “I hate you ISATS!”

This. Is. AWESOME!!! I love when students give us the perfect moment of clarity. Hope it got better for him.

  2. I absolutely love this! You begin with all the adult frustrations and sum it up with a simple statement from a child that says it all.

  5. Susan, I love this! I had no idea what you were talking about, but the suspension built and built. The end…hilarious.

Trying to find and read everyone’s slices. Trying to comment. Trying to stay awake. I love your frustration with “trying” on repeat.

This is great, Susan! LOVE the repetition and the lack of punctuation – it’s like I watched your day whiz by in a blur. And, amen to that student!!

Trying to guess which kid is which since I KNOW you’re not only talking about one. Beast had me laughing!!! I may need to publish this for my desk.

I love repetition of action, and the last statement was perfect!!!
